摘要
本文简要地介绍了索引的种类、索引工作在社会生产和科学研究领域的重要性及其手工编制中所存在的问题,并详细描述了利用计算机实现通用信息检索系统(GIRS)的设计思想及原则,介绍了系统实现方法及各模块的功能,包括索引的建立、计算机捡索、索引排序、索引排版和系统维护五项功能。
In this paper, index categories, the importance of index in social producing and scientific research, some problems existed in manual researching are introduced. And the idea and guideline of enabling GIRS design through computer are described in detail. The paper discusses how system realizes, and functions of .all the modules, including foundation of index, computer retrieval, index sequencing, index composing and ：system maintenance.
