Objective:To observe the effects of traumatic shock on the plasma endothelin (ET), calcitonin - gene related peptide (CGRP) and arterial blood gas analysis (ABGA) in rats. Methods: The rats were shocked by fracturing the posterior limbs. The plasma concentration of ET, CGRP and arterial blood gas analysis were measured before shock and after 1, 3, 5 and 12 h of resuscitation. Results: The level of ET, CGRP, PCO2, PO2 and SO2 in blood samples changed significantly at the end of shock and after 1, 3, 5 and 12h of resuscitation. The ET and CGRP level increased significantly compared with that before shock. The summit occurred 5 h after resuscitation. PCO2 in ABGA increased significantly, while PO2 and SO2 declined. Conclusion: The traumatic shock causes the change of ET, CGRP and ABGA in rats. ET and CGRP play an important role in traumatic shock resuscitation.
