The experiment of DC upset welding on shows that the deformation appears both at the welding current on and as the current off. It is large during on time, and small as off time. When welding pressure keeps constant , the deformation depends on heat imput . The variations of welding current and voltage depend on deformation and temperature. Finally, the deformation can be adjusted by controlling the displacement.
