The 52nd edition of the Venice Biennale International Art Exhibition opened its doors for previews on June 7, drawing artists,collectors, curators, dealers, critics and art patrons to experience the vast array of artworks on display at the Arsenale and Giardini di Castello as well as elsewhere in the city. At this world renowned contemporary art fair I met much more Chinese colleagues than at any art events in Beijing. Art workers from across the world, each holding a Biennale guide map in hands, threaded their way through the hustle and bustle of tourists and shuttled from one pavilion to another, with no single exhibition missed.
