The Knowledge and Studies of Ancient Mesopotamia by the Chinese during the first 50 Years of the 20th Century

20世纪初，中国学术界对古代两河流域的历史有了更多的接触，出版并翻译了几本关于两河流域及古巴比伦的历史著作，特别值得称道的是，中国学者蔡仪关于古巴比伦历史的专业研究论文，意味着中国学者对该领域的研究已开始与国际学界的接轨。

In the early period of the 20th century,Chinese scholars carried out more studies about the history of ancient Mesopotamia.Several historical books in other languages were translated into Chinese and some Chinese scholars also published their books dealing with Mesopotamia and Ancient Babylon.Among these,Cai Yi's research papers on Ancient Babylon were especially praiseworthy.The publication of these papers indicated that the Chinese scholarship of the Ancient Middle East had established connection with the international learned societies in this area.
