摘要
田纳西.威廉斯著名的《玻璃动物园》可以称作是一部"现实与虚幻"的剧本:全剧出场的所有角色,无论是貌似生活在虚幻中的阿曼达还是脚踏实地的来访者吉姆,以及汤姆和劳拉,实际上都有他们与表相截然相反的一面。本文从人物分析入手,通过文本解读来展现该剧人物在虚幻与现实之间的挣扎和对这两者的认识,以及由此折射出的人物个性。
Tennessee Williams＇s famous drama The Glass Menagerie can be called one between reality and illusion.All characters present on the stage,including Amanda who seemed to live in the illusion,the most realistic gentleman caller Jim,Tom,and Laura,have their hidden faces.This paper,through analyses of the characters and interpretation of the script,aims at exhibiting their struggles between illusion and reality as well as revealing their recognition of them,which reflect the nature of their personalities.
