The Formalism Tendency in Modern Architecture

和传统美学相比,西方现代美学一方面尽量减少文本在语义方面的含义,一方面又努力追求文本结构的内在完整性,表现出一种追求形式本体的倾向。受西方现代美学的影响,现代建筑中也表现出追求纯净形式、追求丰富句法、追求中性风格和追求抽象结构的形式主义倾向。

Comparing with the traditional aesthetics, modern aesthetics expresses a notable formalist tendency. It tries to reduce the semantic meaning of the text, and at the same time it tries to seek for the integrality of the text structure and form. Affected by the modern aesthetics, the modern architecture also appears a formalist tendency, by seeking for the simple form, the complex form-structure, the neutral style and the abstract logic relationship.
