在人们的印象中，雕塑大多只作为纯粹的艺术品出现，观赏的价值远远高于其功能和使用性，因此很容易使人们产生一种疏离感。实际上，雕塑不仅仅是一件艺术品或观赏品，它在一定程度上承载着一座城市的精神，延续着一种文脉，以其独特的空间形态表达着城市的生活和文化，是城市景观中不可或缺的文艺载体。艺术本身是源于生活的，所以雕塑也不应远离大众，应更好地服务于大众、点亮环境，为生活增添审美质素。

Sculpture is usually considered as the complete work of art which possesses the value of appreciation rather than its utility, thus, causing the remote sense towards people. In fact, sculpture is not simply an object of savor but also bears the prominent spirit of a city and continues the time-honored tradition of a culture. As the unique spatial form it fully expresses the urban lifestyle and culture; as the literature carrier it plays an indispensable role in the urban landscape. The art originates from life, which signifies that the sculpture should be utilized to serve the public, to decorate the environment and to increase the elements of taste for our life.
