摘要 概述信息业务种类和数量需求的增长趋势.说明通信扩大建设对光纤技术发展的原则性要求,包括延长传输距离,加大传输容量,发掘利用已设光纤的潜力和设计今后应用的新型光纤,光子器件和集成的加快研究开发,以及新技术必须提高可靠性和降低成本等要求.介绍光纤通信新技术近年研究、实验和应用的进展趋向,包括光纤放大器、密集波分多路、非零色散光纤和高性能光子器件与集成等新技术的进展.解释光纤通信在各种通信网中实际应用的不同考虑,包括在长途骨干网、市内接入网、有线电视网、专用区域网和海底通信线路等场合的应用发展趋势. Outlining the growth trends of information services and traffic demands,the paper explains the requirements on the development of new technologies of optical fiber communication during the expansion of national telecommunication construction,including the extension of transmission distance,increase of transmission capacity,utilization of the potentiality of existing fiber cable and design of new type of single mode fiber,enhancing the research of photonic devices and integration,and raising reliability and lowering cost in using new technologies.The paper also enumerates the current advances in research,experiment and application of new technologies,such as optical fiber amplifier,dense wavelength division multiplex,non zero dispersion fiber,and high performance photonic devices and integration.Finally,it describes the applications of optical fiber communication in various kinds of communication networks,such as toll and local core networks,access network,cable television network,local area network as well as submarine cable.
