本篇综述指导非心脏专科临床医生应用β受体阻滞剂。
β受体阻滞剂在治疗心绞痛、降低心肌梗死和心力衰竭患者死亡率方面有效。β受体阻滞剂可能还有减少高危外科手术患者心血管事件和延缓动脉粥样硬化进展的作用。在年轻患者，β受体阻滞剂应该与利尿剂、钙拮抗剂、血管紧张素转换酶抑制剂以及肾上腺素能受体拮抗剂一样，仍旧作为一线降压药物，选择哪种降压药物要根据患者情况而定。
