不同的民族所处的环境不同,产生了不同的文化形态,这种形态反映到语言层面上,则表现为语言差异。每种语言都有一定的表达准则,每种文化也有不同的交际准则。掌握足够的文化背景知识,了解中西文化的差异有助于我们理解不同国家人的言语行为,避免文化冲突。因此英语教学不仅要给学生传授语言知识和技能,更重要的是培养学生的社会文化能力。

Different environment created different culture, and language level reflected to this pattern, which was manifested as linguistic differences. Every language has certain rules of speaking and every culture has rules about how people should interact with each other. We must have adequate background knowledge and understand cultural differences, so as to interpret how people from another country behave and speak, avoid cultural clashes. So English language teaching is not only to impart knowledge and skills, but more importantly to develop students＇ social-cultural competence, which plays a vital role in the needs of society and personal promotion.
