摘要
美国主流媒体在对中国的报道中,对富有中国特色的政治文化信息的词汇,采取了以异化为主的翻译策略。一部分中国学者认为这一翻译策略主要是针对懂英语的中国读者。本文从篇章语言学和新闻翻译的相关角度,结合一个问卷调查的结果,提出了不同的看法,认为美国主流媒体对中国报道中以异化为主的翻译策略,主要是针对西方的英语读者。
In U S prestige press coverage of China, the strategy of foreignisation is used to translate words and phrases that are unique in Chinese political and cultural ideas. Some Chinese scholars hold that the strategy is aimed at Chinese readers who are able to read in English. This paper, from perspectives of the text linguistics and journalistic translation as well as results of a questionnaire, suggests that the target readers of the strategy are western readers , rather than Chinese readers.
