临床药师选择在医院重点科室开展临床药学服务工作不仅是医院临床工作发展的需要，也是医院临床药师自身发展的需要。临床药师在参与临床工作过程中应注意自身的角色定位，发挥药学特长，主要提供与药相关的服务。临床药师应参与临床用药的全过程，包括医生的开医嘱、护士的用药和对患者的用药教育等，保证患者用药的安全有效。建立全国性专科临床药师组织，对临床药师工作开展将有重要的作用。
