文章在对我国高校英语师资现状研究进行评述的基础上,说明师资培训和培养的必要性,并提出把社会培训与自身培养结合起来,一方面要重视专门的学历培养,另一方面要注重在职的培训和培养,通过各种途径促进和深化英语教师的终身学习和专业发展。

This article, based on the analysis of the present situation of English teachers in colleges and universities, expound on the necessities of their training and cultivation. Social training and self- cultivation must be banded together. At one hand, emphasis must lay on the professional training for aeademie degrees;on the other hand, on - the - job training and cultivation must be emphasized to promote and further the life - long education and career development of English teachers.
