Comments on the Philosophers is a literary special academic works on gloss and emendation. Its writer is Yu Yue, a great expert researching on characters, gloss and phonology in late Dynasty. Until now in the academic field, no one has written the papers commenting on his book. The situation is inappropriate with his academic position. His academic thoughts and methods of gloss are very helpful for modem people,and I found many discussible place in it when I read it. This article tries to make complete and pertinent analysis to Yu Yue＇s academic deficiency.
