在纷繁的当今社会中发现和宣传先进典型,是新闻工作者的义务和责任。新闻工作者必须站在时代的高度,立足中华民族的传统美德,从生活中选择先进典型,并且坚持贴近实际、贴近群众、贴近生活的新闻"三贴近"原则,才能使所报道的先进典型真正走进受众心中,发挥典型引路的教育示范作用,才能最终达到促进社会主义和谐社会建设的目的。

It is obligation and responsibility for journalists to find out and propagate the advanced models in the contemporary soiety. Basing themselves upon the tendency of the times and traditional Chinese virtues,journalists should choose advanced models from life and conduct the journalistc principles of＂being close to reality, close to masses, close to life＂so that their reports can influence the public positively, play the leading role in educating the masses,achieving thd goal of promoting the construction of the socialist harmonious society.
