记得小时候,每次来青岛,都要到水族馆去看各种各样的海洋鱼类和海洋动物标本;那时,水族馆和栈桥一样,是青岛的标志性建筑,是所有来青岛的游客必去的景点。在今天的青岛旅游市场,有一句叫得很响的广告词"没看过海底世界,别说你来过青岛",这里说的"海底世界"就是在青岛水族馆修建扩建基础上建设的旅游新景观。

In the autumn of 1930, at the annual meeting of China Science Society held in Qingdao, Cai Yuanpei, Li Shizeng, Hu Ruoyu, Jiang Bingran, and Song Chunfang proposed the establishment of the China Research Institute of Oceanography and decided to construct Qingdao Aquarium under the name of China Research Institute of Oceanography.
