A more effective role of the Shibor quote as a benchmark is key for establishing the benchmark position of Shibor yield curves. After a detailed introduction of the manner in which the Shibor quote is set everyday, this paper analyzes the constraints on the effectiveness of Shibor benchmark, and presents recommendations for enhancing the benchmark＇s role from the perspective of a commercial bank, particularly a quotation bank.
