摘要
The catalytic system for oxidizing para-xylene to pure tereph- thalic acid （PTA） is a major factor affecting the economic and technical level of the PTA unit, and all major PTA technology licensers keep completely confidential the oxidation-related process technology. Till now Chinese producers have not yet adopted the novel oxidation co-catalyst for manufacture of PTA. For this reason, SINOPEC has set up a project on R＆D of novel co-catalyst for oxidation of para-xylene, and the development work is jointly performed by the chemical plant subordinated to Yangzi Petrochemical Company （YPC） and YPC＇s Research Institute.
