The concept and operation of general unascertained number and its application in teaching

从分析用实数表达客观事物数量关系所产生的缺陷出发，引入了未确知有理数和一般未确知数的概念，进而给出了它们的运算及其应用实例．

By analysing the drawbacks resulted from the basic uses of real number, we introduced in this paper the concept of unascertained rational nurnber and general unascertained number as well as provided some operation and application examples.
