略论北齐袁月玑墓志

A Brief Discussion on Epitaph for Yuan Yue Ji of the Northern Qi Dynasty

北齐《袁月玑墓志》的出土,对南朝以降的著姓高门陈郡谢氏与济阳蔡氏的谱系颇有纠补之益。志文中对月玑文辞、书法造诣的赞颂,客观上也丰富了世人对蔡文姬以及《三都赋》作者左芬两位才女的认识。根据题铭位置与文献记载推知,南朝墓志的序、铭往往由两人分工完成,《袁月玑墓志》的出土,为这一推断又增添了一件有力的依据。

The lately published Epitaph for Yuan Yue Ji is of fairly high historical value. Yuan Yue Ji, to whom the Epitaph was dedicated, his father Yuan Ang and his grandfather Yuan Yi enjoyed a high reputation throughout the Song, Qi and Liang Dynasties. Yue Ji＇s uncles, descendants of Cai Xing Clan in Ji Yang, were the outcome of the shift of emphasis on marriages that matched family status among gentries to a more complicated multiple relationship due to the shrinkage of marriage circles. The excavation of the Epitaph for Yuan Yue Ji has supplemented and corrected mistakes in the system of family tree of the famous Xie＇s Clan in Xie Jun and the Cai＇s Clan in Ji Yang. The praise of Yue Ji＇s attainments in literary and calligraphic graces has enriched the knowledge of Cai Wen Ji and Zuo Fen, the author of the Verse of Three Cities. It may be inferred, according to the position of the inscription in the tablet, that the prefaces and inscriptions in tomb tablets during the Southern Dynasties were done by two different people. The excavation of the Epitaph for Yuan Yue Ji has provided yet another strong support for the inference.
