The Textual Research on He Zhizhang and His Poems

贺知章以他的特殊社会地位和人品文名,使他有机会与初盛唐时的许多著名诗人交往。其中有些诗人是得到他的奖掖和推荐,才得以在京城扬名。他的交游研究,具有很高的学术价值和史料价值。继陈子昂之后,他是自觉地承担起诗风改革的又一人。他以诗歌创作实践,继承了陈子昂用质朴的语言入诗的优良传统,同时又注意克服了六朝诗中所残留的玄言诗的习气,境界顿感清新,极富生活情趣。其诗已具备盛唐气象的基本特点,与初唐诗歌有着明显的区别。

He Zhizhang was famous for his peculiar social class and moral standing. On account of that, he got the opportunity to affiliate with some notable poets of Early and Prime Tang Dynasty. And some of them became renowned in the capital by the rewarding and promoting of He Zhizhang. The research on the communication and socializing of He Zhizhang had significant value both in academia and historical materials. Following Chen Ziang, He Zhizhang is the only one who take the responsibility of the reformation of poem style. By the practice of poesy, He Zhizhang inherited Chen Ziang＇s excellent tradition which organized the poems by unvarnished language while intentionally conquered the abstruse language which was remained in the poems of Chen. So the his poems were refreshing and full of daily sentiment. Now that the poems of He Zhizhang had the basic characteristic of the poems of Prime Tang Dynasty, it can be obviously distinguished from the poems of Early Tang Dynasty.
