贾宝玉和林黛玉的"木石前盟"是知己之爱,也是叛逆者之爱。这种爱情损害了家世利益,不容于封建思想和制度,而被拆散,形成悲剧。薛宝钗与贾宝玉的"金玉良缘"虽说"终成眷属",但由于宝玉的出家,亦成悲剧。这两处悲剧都是封建末世时由封建家长所造成的,两者是时代的悲剧,其悲剧性是必然的。

Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu＇s ＂previous oath＂ was deep love and also rebel love. The love which was broken up by feudal thought and system conflicted the family＇s benefit and became a tragedy. Xue Baochai and Jia Baoyu＇s ＂ Harmonious Union＂ also became a tragedy because Baoyu became monk. The head of the feudal family made the tragedies in last phase of feudal society. The tragedies were ones of times and were inevitable.
