摘要
This paper aims to introduce two phenomena--metaphor and metonymy, and analyzes the relationship between them. It＇s analyzed that they play an important role in foreign language learning. Metaphor and metonymy competence should be included in foreign language learning so as to alter students＇ thought models in learning foreign language.
本文旨在系统介绍认知语言学中两大认知现象（隐喻与转喻）的理论并阐述两者关系。作者在此基础上分析两者对外语学习的启发。作者认为现代外语学习应把隐喻与转喻能力的培养也包括在内，以便能使学生转变思维，向英语思维靠近。
