牛顿假说观探析

Analysis of Newton's Concept of Hypothesis

"我不作假说"引出牛顿到底是肯定假说还是否定假说的争论。牛顿的假说观充满了矛盾性,用简单的肯定或否定的观点来评价牛顿的假说观,显然不能诠释牛顿假说观的真实内容。我们应当用辩证的观点考察牛顿的假说观,既要看到他肯定假说的一面,又要看到他在假说观上的缺陷与不足,更要看到牛顿在假说观上的矛盾性其实是历史的局限性在其假说观上的反映。

＂I do not give hypothesis＂ leads controversy whether Newton was certain about hypothesis or negated the hypothesis. Newton＇ s concept of the hypothesis is full of contradictions. A simple affirmative or negative perspective to evaluate the hypothesis of Newton＇s concept obviously can not interpret the concept of hypothesis real content. We should apply the dialectical view to study Newton＇ s concept of hypothesis, to see his assurance about hypothesis side as well as his defects on hypothesis. Newton＇s contradictions on the concept of hypothesis are actually reflection of historical limitations in the concept of hypothesis.
