浅论《战国策》之以势成势

On the Combination of Various Kinds of Momentum in The Warring States Stratagems

《战国策》气势雄伟、感染力强,具体表现在策士思维、主张、言辞三方面。究其原因在于策士采取了独特的策略——捭阖术,此乃时势、地势、人势、术势综合形成,以势成势是之谓。然"势"的互成仅为一面,时势对人势的消解,才是策士群体被称为战国独特精神代表之一的实质原因。

The Warring States Stratagems is a book of tremendous momentum and strong infectious power which are embodied in the thinking, claims and speech of the strategists. The reason lies in the unique strategy adopted by the strategists： maneuverability, which is a combination of various types of momentum., the momentum of times, geographical terrain, human power and tactics. The combination of different momentum becomes even more powerful momentum. But the combination of various types of momentum is only one part of the story; the dissolution of the momentum of the human power by the trend of the times was the real reason why the groups of strategists were called the unique spiritual representatives of the Warring States period.
