在对实例分析的基础上,对《朗文当代英语大辞典》(英英.英汉双解)进行了评述,指出该辞典具有五个特征,即释义用词简单;语言与文化结合紧密;设置用法说明和同义词辨析;例证丰富;插图精美、附录内容实用,是一部实用性极强的辞典。文章还对辞典所存在的问题提出了改进意见。

In terms of Cultural Semantics, this paper comments on Longman Dictionary of English Language and Culture （English-Chinese） through analyzing five of its features, i.e., simple defining vocabulary; close relationship between language and culture; useful usage notes and synonym discrimination; abundant illustrative examples; beautiful pictorial illustrations and practical appendices, which combine to make it a practical dictionary. And this paper puts forward the points that need to be improved.
