五年多来的大量事实证明:出于能源、地缘与文化的再三考量,美国抓住九一一事件乘势将"绿祸"锁定为"假想敌",它暗合了白宫借反恐谋霸的现实需求:布什政府将报九一一事件之仇的军事行动定性为"全世界的战斗",甚至"文明社会的战斗",进而以"要么站在我们一边,要么站在恐怖分子一边"来划分世界,希望各国的态度是"打击一个国家就是打击全体",借此"把整个世界团结起来"。为配合布什政府的这一反恐战略,美国传媒则以发掘九一一事件的世界性意义、渲染"改变一切"的新闻议题等方式在一定程度上精心营构了有利于美国的国际舆论。

Since the Event of September 11, a great deal of the facts have proved that based on the careful consideration of energy, geography and culture, the United States has taken the advantage of the opportunity of the event to define the 'green menace' as the'imgined enemy', which potentially accords the real demand of the U.S. for hegemony in the name of counter-terrorism. The Bush administration defined the U.S. military operation of revenge as the 'battle of the world' and even as the 'battle of the civilized society', and divided the world by 'whether stay with us, or stay with the terrorists', hoping that the other countries of the world would think that 'attacking one country is attacking the whole' so that the whole world could be united. In order to assort with the government’s counter-terrorist strategy, the U.S. media have carefully created favorable international public opinions by disintering the world significance of the event of September 11 and playing up the news topic of 'changing everything'.
