摘要
挫折成就了徐特立的教育事业。为摆脱家庭困境,他当了乡村塾师;岳阳会考落榜,他结束了塾师生活,推行平民教育;辛亥革命后,当上湖南省临时议会的副议长和教育科长不久,因与官场势不两立,他愤而留学法国;五年后回国,大力推行民主革命教育,被誉为教育界的长沙王。作为一名无产阶级教育家,徐特立为新中国的建立培养了大批各类人才,是公认的新中国教育事业的奠基人。
Frustation made Xu Te - li successful in his educational career. He became a teacher of a country private school. After the failure in Yueyang Examination, he began to spread the education of common people. After 1911 Revolution, he was appointed to be the deputy chairman of Hunan Contemprary Congress and the chief of education of Hunan province. Because he couldn't get well along with other officials, he left for France. Five years later, he came back to China and popularized democratic revolutionary education and was regarded as the greatest person in Changsha education community. As a proletariate educator, Xu cultivated many talents for new China and was regarded as the forerunner of new China education career.
