The Strengthening of the Administrative Control of Chahar Area of the Central Goverment from Qing Dynasty to Public of China

清初以来,察哈尔地区以其重要的地理位置而受到清政府的特别重视。清末至民国时期的历届政府都十分注重对察哈尔地区加强控制,具体措施即是开垦一设治模式的推广和行政机构的逐步近代化。

Since the beginning of Qing Dynasty, Chahar District had been paid special attention by the government of Qing Dynasty because of its very important geographical location. From the end of Qing Dynasty to Beiyang （北洋） Period, all previous governments paid much attention to control the district. The specific measures were to popularize the mode of cultivating and setting up cities and towns and to modernize the administration organization gradually.
