摘要
本文提出了描述地理信息系统(GIS)中几何特征位置不确定性的一个通用模型:从1维到N维。在每1维中,GIS中的特征被划分为点、线段及线性特征。由于GIS中数据含有误差,这些特征在GIS中的位置未必与其现实世界中的真实位置一致,而其真实位置只是在围绕着GIS中量测位置的某一个区域内。
This paper describes a newly developed statistical approach for modelling positional uncertainties of geometric features in GIS: from 1 to N dimensions. In each dimension, the GIS features are classified as points, line segments or line features. Because of the errors of GIS features, their locations in GIS may not be their actual location in the real world. The true location of a feature is only within a certain area around the measured feature in GIS. This newly developed approach can be used to provide a statistical description of such areas. For one, two, three and N dimensional features, the areas are defined as confidence intervals, confidence regions, confidence volumes and confidence spaces respectively. The areas are related to the positional errors of the composite points of the features and to a predefined confidence level.
