Information Lifecycle Management Based on the 6C Evaluation Index System

通过信息价值变化曲线说明信息随时间的价值变化,采用6C(指实现信息生命周期管理的6要素)指标体系法评价了信息生命周期管理实施的效果,最后得出结论,即通过信息生命周期管理的实施,企业不仅能节约大量信息存储成本,还能有效地降低管理的复杂性,实现管理理念的创新。

The management of information has become more and more complicated as the increase of amount of information, especially for the increase of Email. In order to actualize the balance of information increasing and memory cost, enterprises need to implement information lifecycle management. This paper depicts the change of the information value with time change through their changing curve, and applies the method of 6C index system to judge the effect of the application of information lifecycle management （6C is the 6 essential factors of carrying out information lifecycle management, including Classification and Policy Service, Consolidation, Continuity, Comprehensive Backup Recovery and Architecture, Compliance, Content Management）. This paper concludes that enterprises can reduce the cost of information management as the result of information lifecycle management, and effectively reduce the complexity of management as well.
