The author makes a careful investigation into UG studies and gives brief comments on some major issues concerning the theory. In contrast with the basis and conditions for children＇s language acquisition, as research findings related to neuroscience and cognitive science, he presents some doubts about UG studies mainly in terms of LAD hypothesis and conducts a tentative probe into the possibility of the existence of UG. Finally, he points out the great significance of UG studies to human beings＇ studies of natural languages and themselves.
