Language and culture are closely related, Much importance has been attached to culture in foreign language teaching . This paper intends to discuss the aim and significance of intercultural communication and analyze the necessity of cultivating intercultural communication competence in foreign language teaching. It also puts forward several methods to foster the ability of intercultural communication in foreign language teaching.
