大学英语教学在理工院校人文素质教育中的作用

The Function of College English Teaching in Humane Quality Education at University of Science and Engineering

"学会求知,学会做事,学会共处,学会做人"是新世纪教育的四大支柱。它提出了教育的核心是"做人"的教育,学会与人交往合作,学会与社会共处,不仅仅是人生的技巧,也是人之所以为人的根本。在英语教学中怎样进行人文素质的培养,应该是目前每一位英语教师必须探索和实践的课题,就此提出了自己粗浅的认识。

＂Learn to seek knowledge, learn to handle social activities, learn to coexist, and learn to be a good person.＂ These are the four big educational props in the new century, from which we can see the education core is to cultivate a good person. Cooperation and coexistence are not only the life skills but also the basis of being a person. Then, how can we cultivate the students＇ humane quality in English teaching？ It should be a serious task in English teaching. Some brief views about this will be shared in the paper.
