This paper discusses the principle of the charge-coupled-de- vice(CCD)laser tracking system,analyzes the detected distance and the angle accuracy of the system.It also compares the CCD system with the quadrant device(QD)system and describes the electronic shutter technology and the enhanced-lmage technology used in the CCD laser tracking system with fanally a conclusion that the CCD system is superior to the QD system.
