旌表是我国传统社会皇帝垄断的一种荣誉性权力符号,旌表的目的是为了教化民众,达到治国安民的社会效果。从权威评价活动的角度来看,旌表主要是通过对民意的引导使"天下归心焉"。旌表是国家权力话语的民间基层表达,国家权力的触角通过旌表这种柔性的制度悄然伸入民间,从而达到对基层社会的控制。

Jingbiao is an honourable symbol of the emperors for their traditional monopoly, whose purpose is to educate the populace so as to govern the country. Considered from the authority appraisal, jingbiao coaxes the people to obey the government so that it is the authority discourse that is manifested in the citizens. The power of the country controls the society by means of this flexible system.
