英语国家姓名习俗特点及其文学作品中音译探讨

本文从意义、韵律和正字法等方面分析了英语国家姓名习俗,指出了姓名是具有浓厚的文化内涵的社会历史现象。因此文学作品翻译中采取音译的办法存在着一些不足,本文也试图提出了一些可行的其他方法。

The paper analyses the English naming customs from the language-specitlc characteristics, such as semantic, prosodic and orthographical features. The naming customs is a cultural and historical phenomenon, it＇s therefore inappropriate for the current approach of transliteration, at least in handling the literary works, and several alternatives are also provided in the paper.
