Searching For Xichuan's "Mental Privacy":Reading "The Eagle's Words"

组诗《鹰的话语》是西川于1998年创作完的。这组诗被西川认为是他九十年代最重要的作品,同时也被认为是流露出了他的“精神隐私”的作品。诗人在这组诗中向我们展示了他对死亡、孤独、道德、真实和存在的独特认识。同时《鹰的话语》堪称西川“综合创造”的代表作,作品从古今中外广阔的文化背景取得借鉴,面向历史和现实对人的生存状态进行的反讽式观照。诗人西川通过这组《鹰的话语》,以奇形古怪的语言、散文化的风格、趣味性的叙事倾向、强烈的荒诞感向我们晦涩地讲述了他的“精神隐私”。

A group of poems ＂The Eagle＇s Words＂ were completed in 1998 by Xichuan. They were viewed as his most important works in 1990＇s, which exposed Xichuan＇s ＂mental privacy＂in his own eyes. He expressed to the readers special ideas about death, loneliness, morality, truth and existence in this group of poems. ＂The Eagle＇s Words＂is Xichuan＇s masterpiece of ＂comprehensive creation＂, and it draws lessons from the ancient and the present, the foreign and the domestic culture background. It also gives satiric viewpoint to the living state of human beings from both history and reality. The poet, Xichuan, exposed obscurely his ＂mental privacy＂by means of strange language, a prosaic style, an interesting narration tendency and a sense of intense absurdity in ＂The Eagle＇s Words＂.
