摘要
从原型理论角度看,哈代《苔丝》的主题是对圣经中的"失乐园"、"救赎"与"重生"原型的化用。从隐喻的意义上讲,苔丝的故事就是她始而丧失其"天真乐园"、继而丧失其"爱情乐园"、终而丧失其"生命乐园"。但通过自我"救赎"和"救赎"他人,她最终在精神上获得了"重生"的故事。《苔丝》富于悲剧意味的原型主题既增强了小说的悲剧氛围,又深化了小说的内涵。
Viewed from the archetypal theories, the themes in Tess of the d＇Urbervilles are the biblical archetypes of ＂the loss of paradise＂, ＂redemption＂ and ＂regeneration＂. Metaphorically speaking, the story of Tess is about her loss of ＂paradise＂ -- ＂paradise of innocence＂, ＂paradise of love＂ and ＂paradise of life＂, about her ＂redemption＂ of herself and of others, and about her spiritual ＂regeneration＂. The tragic archetypal themes of the novel help to strengthen the tragic atmosphere in it, and to deepen the connotations of the novel.
