Bridge structural health monitoring （SHM） and evaluation system is a real-time and online system that monitoring environment, structural response and health condition of the bridge during service life of the bridge.As a key part of the system, the communication network in SHM system should be studied and designed carefully.In this paper, the main features and implementation of the communication network in the structural health monitoring system of Runyang bridge is introduced according to the constitution, the types, operating principles and protocols of the communication network in SHM.
