Review of CAQDA in Chinese Context

本文简要回顾了国内外定性研究在最近20多年的发展概况,总结了定性研究的六个发展趋势和分析策略上的三种流派。在上述两种背景下,本文探讨了计算机辅助的定性分析给定性研究带来的机遇和挑战,特别是它和手工操作对比时的优势和劣势,以及应用这种定性分析技术所可能面临的困难。

After reviewing the last two decades' literatures on qualitative research, the article identifies six trends and three analytical perspectives in qualitative data analysis. Computer-Aided Qualitative Data Analysis (CAQDA), as a new analytical technique, has its own relative advantages and disadvantages in contrast to manual operations. Application of CAQDA in Chinese context is discussed in terms of potential problems, e.g., linguistic and semantic compatibilities.
