Japan is known as a workaholic cotmtry, where the interests of enterprises and collectives are superior to all others. The group consciousness of Japanese has brought about rapid economic development since the end of the WW II. However, excessive group consciousness has resulted in heavy pressures both in the physical and psychological health of the people. A result of this has led to a phenomenon know as "Karoshi."
