The paper discusses several subsoils treatment methods for multi - level buildings in collapsible loess areas where garbage fills（ pits etc）are numerous. Examples of effective use of down -hoie compaction piles with enlarged bearing ends in treating garbage fills areas are given. In the meanwhile the importance of leakage and infiltration prevention around buildings is emphasized.
