Two digital video cameras and the Novel Pedar-X insole system was used to record the plantar forces and moving pictures of sixteen experienced Tai Chi practitioners during the execution of Tai Chi movements and during normal walking. The one-leg stance duration during the one-leg stance were compared. The result showed that the percentage(standardized value) of the total duration spent in the one-leg stance was less(p〈 0.05), the duration of each one-leg stance was longer(p 〈0.01) in Tai Chi exercise then normal walking; Tai Chi exercise can improve the balance control during the one-leg stance, The ground reaction forces varied between the Tai Chi movements and normal walking, The ground reaction forces in Tai Chi are smaller then in normal walking.
