The status quo of the automatic generation control （ AGC ） and primary frequency regulation functions of the No. 1 and 2 units in Baosteel Power Plant is presented. The functions were improved and optimized through system design, implementation, and debugging. After the optimization, the functions reach the requirements of Shanghai Power Grid, and the operational reliability of the units is improved.
