Online Literature Search Changes Human Scenes of Literary Communication

随着图书文献被搜索引擎的巨量收录和传播,"图书搜索"概念已经开始以在线图书馆的形式出现,从而极大地改变了当代文献阅读的人文景观。人类阅读文化形态的这一转变,在文化上的意义涉及到许多方面的重估,例如文献拥有者权益的认定、文献获取的方法、文献资源"合理使用"的界定、文献传递渠道的格局,以及数字化文献利用的文化意义。除了巨大商业利益的驱使外,推动这些重估的力量还涉及不同地域文化、意识形态的话语权等。文章描述了这一文化转型的过程,并且认为,对在线图书搜索的是非得失,现在判断都为时过早。但是,图书在线搜索改变文献利用的人文现象是亟需关注的。

With more and more literature stored and spread by search engines, the concept of ＂book searching＂ begins to appear in the form of online library, thus greatly changing the contemporary reading style and human reading scenes. Owing to this great change, many innovations of cultural significance are inevitable, i.e. the confirmation of the rights and interests of the owners of books and documents, the method of obtaining relevant literature, the appropriate use of philological sources, communicating channels of documents, and the cultural significance of the utility of digital documents. Apart from the impulse of commercial interests, the forces driving these innovations forward include also local culture, ideological word power, etc. This paper displays the whole process of such a cultural transformation, and it maintains that it is too early to judge the right or wrong of online literature searching. However, the change in human use of literature caused by online literature searching urgently calls for immediate attention.
