The traditional theory holds that a translator should try to be an havisble man in the process of literary translation. However, translators actually play a very important role ha this process. The paper tries to prove the importance of advocating translators' styles ha literary translation by comparing the two English versions of A Dream in Red Mansions and the two Chinese versions of Emma. Besides, the readers can learn a lot if they are exposed to the literary translation works of different transla- tors with different styles.
