Coal ash is one of very important economic parameters, based on the low energy γ ray backre- flection technique , a portable coal ash gauge has been developed according the requirement. The gauge is so light that it can be brought to truck , train full with coal , and to the coal piles for ash measurement when the gauge directly is put into the coal , and the results can be displayed in 5 seconds.
