摘要
《奇异的插曲》是"美国现代戏剧之父"尤金.奥尼尔的创作走向成熟的标志。奥尼尔通过女主人公尼娜对女性从属地位的大胆抗争、男性至上权威的严苛束缚以及最后尼娜对男权中心文化的无奈屈从这三个方面向读者展现了一幅现代两性关系的画面,由此引发的对两性问题的思索对健康、和谐的两性关系的建立具有一定的社会意义。
The Strange Interlude stands as a landmark of maturity of writing by Eugene O＇Neill,father of American modern drama.The playwright presented us a tableau of the modern gender relationship through description of Nina＇s brave resistance to the female subordinate status,the ruthless restriction of the male supreme authority and Nina＇s resignation to the male-centered culture.The reflections initiated by the play on the problem of gender relationship are beneficial for us to build up a healthy and harmonious gender relationship.
